At 6 am Team Billand was out at Paradise Cove. There was a seal on shore to the left near the waters edge, who turned out to be da Benny RE74. He was dry, but the tide was slowly rising and hitting his face but instead of moving higher up he stayed put. The hotline was called and informed them people were starting to enjoy their holiday. Team Billand stayed with Benny until 8 am when they left to have their Christmas Breakfast. They put up signs and hoped a volunteer would arrive.
After breakfast Team Billand found RW02 sleeping alone up by the rocks at Nanakai. Since RW02 wasn't in plain view they waited to call hotline, but at 11:48 he relocated to Maili.
Meanwhile at Maili Kekoa Alii RK72 was on mid high rocks, alone at first, until RW02 joined him a little later. Both remained all day hanging out together. Also hanging out at Maili but on the lower rocks was RIP RR70 who hauled out and was alone. Until RN14 arrived and ended up near RIP. They were still together on the 3 pm check. Seems like every time Team Billand checked the site another seal was there.
Team Billand returned to Nanakai and found Kaale RH32 and RK36. When they got to the site the two seal were off shore playing and fighting. Kaale never landed from their observations. RK36 would but he headed over to the homeless camps and hauled out there. Hopefully he got some rest.
Posse Pal Vicki was out an about and got lucky. She found RI37 Ipo in Hauula. While driving around and checking some of the other beaches she found little RJ16 Kahulu.
Gayle sent an email noting she didn't find not one critter today. I hope at least she got to enjoy the holiday!
