I'm not sure what time Team Billand arrived at Maili but there was a party going on. First to arrive was RIP RR70, followed by Kekoa and Kaale and they were all scrambling for positions. RN14 was next to arrive. Kaale came up by RIP tried his head butt technique.... um think again kiddo!
All four boys remained on lower rocks for the day. While these boys were all hanging out a fifth seal was hidden on the rocks. It was R4DJ, he was alone quiet and well hidden from the rest of the group.
Team Billand spotted two critters foraging off Campbells. Both adults foraging together, no fighting just eating and diving. They were able to ID Pohaku RO28, but the other seal is an unknown. Barb described the U/U about the same size as Pohaku but the girth was much larger and its coat was a little darker. Possible???? RL12 Aukai??? but who knows?
As if the that wasn't enough, there was one more. As they were passing Nanakai, with their eagle seal eyes spotted a seal on shore near the homeless camp. They made a U turn and checked it out. There was RW02 "PVKauai" all by himself snoozing, then moving higher for the night, if he doesn't get run off.
Posse Pal Gayle checked out Buster at Sandy Beach today. Doesn't look like there is much change to his molting process. She left him this evening near the waters edge, we'll see if he goes for a swim and some of his fur will wash off. Gayle also reported 2 critters on Rabbit Island.
