On my 0800, Spitting Cave check I once again found Buster (RV08) doing 8 minute dives. The Rabbit Island cast for today would be the resident U/F at the left end of the beach, with Duke (RA12) and Kolohe (RW22) at the right end. They would remain all day.
At 1025 Ethel at Hanauma Bay, called to advise of an animal on the left side rock flats. Since I had noted that Ewa Girl was not on RI on my check, I was pretty much expecting the call. When I arrived at 1040 I had just a moment to get the Ewa Girl ID, as she moved into the water, and started a leisurely swim out the left side of HB.
At 0930 Team Billand checked in with the report of 2AW at Electric Beach. He had last been seen (Billands) at Campbell Industrial Park on 7-9-11.
At 1124, ex-DLNR dude, Jaap Isinger called to report an animal newly hauled out to 3 Tables, (Shark's Cove). He described a perfect RI37, but when Dana sent Jeannie Martinson, she noted a CC scar that would not be consistent with that ID. Since nobody involved had cameras, I have no clue at this point.
In the "Yesterday's News" department, Vera sent her usual outstanding shots of La'akea's travels yesterday. Dana called today to advise that La'akea may have a small hook in her side, but this is totally unconfirmed at this point. Seeing Vera' shots from yesterday, it's a wonder she doesn't look like a pin cushion, considering the numbers of lines and poles in her area.
Barbara advised that Eileen had called from the Reef Runway to report Kekoa there as of 1030.
