At 0657 on my Spitting Cave check I found Buster (RV08) for the 7th consecutive day.
At 0745, from Makai Pier I found the same U/F with new coat, no tags, and skinny mom look at the left end of the beach. I also found Nani (RK60) at the right end. The real surprise was the animal at the left end of the Middle Cliff area. It would prove to be Ewa Girl. I'd last seen her on Rabbit Island on 9-7-10, basically, a year ago.
Dera called at 0952 with the report of an animal at Laniakea. Her called at 1118 reported that volunteer Joy Silver had confirmed the RI37 ID, but HF tag, "RI38".
Dana called at 1258 to advise that many volunteers had been observing La'akea in the Turtle Bay area, general moving in a Kahuku direction. At least one haul out was mentioned. Hopefully, we'll have more info by blog time.
Dana called again at 1341 with really exciting news. Diane Gabriel and Karen Turner had gone to "the back of beyond", and found Ua Malie (RT10) and Right Spot in the Kahuku wilds.
Team Billand checked in at 1355 with the report of Noa (R6FI), still with hook, amongst rocks at Maili Point.
Buster @ Spitting Cave
Ewa Girl @ Rabbit Island first time since September 2010
Nani
U/F best DB guess is M+M
Noa 6FI with hook
Wish this thing would work its way out
Just hope this doesn't become the next trend among the humans
Right Spot
Ua Malie T10 hidden away
Looking pretty green
