First order of business is to thank everyone at Camp Irma today.... the endless efforts to protect our beloved monk seals, should not include picking up after some group of jerks, who selfishly trash our shorelines and put everyone and everything in their path in danger. As Lesley said in an email to me...."From SAD to MAD, MAD to SAD, SAD to MAD, MAD to SAD"
I say SHAME ON THOSE PEOPLE.... makes you wonder who the real animals are....
Okay.... the following photos are from the Dawn Patrols discovery of the site to the all those who went by the site to help.... Normally I would say enjoy.... but I will say, this is why we do what we do..... this is why we sometimes are outraged.... this is why there is still a long way to go. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU to ALL that care....
DB looking over the site... what should have been a beautiful morning
REALLY was this necessary? I would love to know who this is...
Don't let this fool you... this was OUR people who put the trash in the cans
And thank goodness our munchkin is okay
Just a little complaint
Look! Dera Look
I'm soooo tired.. there was so much noise last night
Irma looking pretty thin
Don't see this very often.... someone almost as round as Big Momma
Sweet little girl
Don't know I ever saw Irma soooo skinny
Lesley pumping trash!
I am sure the police feel they have better things to do... and they do, but I am grateful they came down and made a report... It's idiotic that we would have to deal with this stupidity period.
Ka Iwi Agrees
Bones.... you can see Irma's bones!!!

Ok, here we are, Mom & Pup here at site, 24 hours a day, with ropes, signs, people to educate, protection zone in place. We are doing our best. But the punks are out, a second time.
Whats the plan here??? Are we all just gonna sit back and hope nothing else happens??? Or, do we have a plan to get these morons????
Are we gonna do something NOW??? How do we know these jokers arent throwing rocks at the seals at night?? Soon Irma to leave...pup alone out there. Some authorities better come out with some plan...dont let this pass a third time folks...its a huge warning, a serious one. This is scarey!!! Please...Please...look into this NOW!!! Dont you dare turn your cheek the other way, thinking, oh its just silly things, not to worry. Some body...HELP!!!!! We need to protect our seals, state, federal, who cares!!!!! HELP!!!
My original email:
"From SAD to MAD, MAD to SAD, SAD to MAD, MAD to SAD !
DB & Marilyn again & again thank you for being you & being there.
What a TRIO we make !! Two on a fence and one on (in) the trash...
Aloha, L. "
I've received several emails, FB messages and phone calls of support. Thank you !
Today was another day, beautiful sunrise & great time watching the girls in the pool.
We are all doing this for the same reason: our L♥ve for the HMS !!
Ok this is what you do. Friday or Saturday night around 8:30 you report anonymously to the police that there is under age drinking out at Ad's/ monk seal site. Even if you don't see anything. Because guarantee this is a result of under age drinking. Then the police have to show up and everyone will get busted. I see this out on the North Shore alot in a particular spot. You could also talk to MADD and they can set up a sting operation. Oh well hope that helps. Sorry that had to happen. What a mess!
Sorry Lesley I forgot the quote marks after the sad mad part..... SHame on them were my words.... I will fix it.
Just wanted to let you guys know there is a large monk seal on the beach in South Maui. It is now 11 pm here and we first saw it about 6 hours ago. I notified the Hawaii Wildlife Fund, but just went down on the beach to check and nobody has done anything yet. The seal is still there. She was alone and resting quietly now but around sunset tonight she had a large crowd gathered around her taking pictures.
She is located on Kama'ole Beach 1 approximately 300-400 yards north of the main Kam 1 parking lot (walk north towards Charley Young Beach). She is probably 20-30 yards up the beach from the waterline.
Ya done good in reporting this seal on Maui. Next time, contact Nichole Davis, she is the person who does monk seals there. I cant remember her phone number, but, if ya report this to: 2207802..monk seal hot line here on Oahu, maybe they will contact Nichole for you. And if you can provide photos, that would be sensational. If the seal has tags, tell them that too, or any scars that are noticeable, that's a great help as well. Size, little, medium etc.
Appreciate your efforts ANNON. Ya done good. Wish I was there to see the mystery seal. Maui dont got too many seals there, so you'r lucky to find one.
