9-17-11 DB Dailies

At 0545 we found Irma (R010)& Kaiwi, snoozin' on the beach above their favorite east end tide pool. The did a couple of feeds and did not enter the water until 1025, hauling out again at 1210. Next came a 1230 to 1255 feed, and then a good snooze. They reentered the tide pool at 1420.

On my 0708 Spitting Cave check I found Buster (RV08) doing 8 minute dives. This was his 8th consecutive day there.

The Rabbit Island cast for today began with the resident U/F at the left end of the beach, at 0812, from the Makapuu Overview. From Makai Pier at 0820 I found Duke (RA12) hiding behind the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS. When I panned to the right I found Ewa Girl (RS00), once again tucked into the base of the cliff at the left end of Middle Cliff. Duke would move down and depart at 1012, and Ewa Girl departed at 1017. On my 1400 Rabbit Island check I found that Duke and Nani (RK60) were together on the rocks at Rocky Right Beach.

Team Billand checked in at 0749 with the report of RIP (RR70) at Maili Point.

Marilyn did the Ka'ena Point trek today, and found 761 upon arrival at 1000 on the back beach. At 1010 she found Ka'ena (R040) at the end of the Runway. 761's head wound appears to be healing.
