In addition there was a memorial held for Benny RE74 and Pohaku RO28 and I know both Marilyn and Team R&B were there today. (unfortunately and sadly I couldn't make it) Please see Part 2
On Marilyn's drive back from Benny and Pohaku's ceremony she made a stop. To her delight there was a seal right in the middle of the rock flats. Seal was ID'd as RJ06 Aka, who had a generous SRA around him. A volunteer was on site and most folks were respectful.
From there she went to view Rabbit Island. Between 2:11 to 3:40 and there were three seals.
Together near SRI were two Subadult Females:
S/F 1: subadult size, light tan female belly and two red tags.
S/F 2: larger juvenile to smaller subadult size, old green coat and two red tags. It appears this seal has finally started to molt. She appears to have shed the fur on her upper left chest area.
Out on RRB was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, light female belly, unsure about tags. This could be one of the weaners.
Team R&B came across two seals on the beach at Lani's. One of them was RL12 Aukai and the other was RN14 Kalani. Seems the boy finally left Waikiki
At another west side location they found RM31 Kai. He was alone today on the lower rocks resting peacefully.
