Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:40 to 3:00 and there were four seals on island.
Down from 1BS was an Unknown Juvenile: juvenile size, two red tags, light ventral but unclear of its gender, probably female. The UJ got into some strange positions making it harder to get details.
Initially alone down from 3BS was the molting Subadult Female: subadult size, medium gray female belly and two red tags. Because of the lousy lighting conditions it was hard to determine if she finished her molt.
About 1:57 pm an Adult Female 2 hauled out near the SF. AF2: adult size, newish coat, two red tagsand female belly. She did not show much of her ventral side.
At SRI was Adult Female 1: adult size, plump, two red tags, older coat and a tan female belly.
Team R&B started their day at the bay where they found two seals in the small Kala Pond. There was RH76 Kala and a smaller male. Kala got pissed at the male for bugging her. Team R&B ID'd RM31 Kai who was bugging Kala. Kala whooped and slapped him silly, nothing mean mostly gentle. The little bugga loved it and wouldn't leave her alone.
In addition they were treated to the dolphins at play.
At another west side location they spotted a smaller green seal, resting even though the waves were lapping over him. They ID'd R416 who has no tags, and a big scar under belly, along with several cc scars.
They also spotted an adult seal foraging off the rocks. There were two tags and they got a photo to see that it was R3CX Nalu. He was doing 5 minute dives but never hauled out during their watch.
