April 9, 2023 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕
First on behalf of Team R&B, monk seal posse and myself, we wish you a Happy Easter.  I took the liberty to use one of Melody's photos of Lei Ola and PO2 in their easter outfits.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 2:30 to 3:35 and there were five seals seen on island today.
In the middle of LPB were RB12 Sadie and PO4. Sadie's applied N12 bleach was very visible today. PO4 snoozed and nursed during Marilyn's observations.
RF34 Pua and PO3 were closer to the 3BS today. Still partially hidden behind the waterfront rocks, but
thankfully moved up the beach. Both Mom and pup appear to be doing well.
Marilyn pointed out an interesting bit of information. Follow along, PO4 is a younger sibling of RF34, because Sadie is RF34's mom. Which makes Sadie PO3's grandmother and PO4 is either the aunt or uncle of PO3.  Love when all the dots get connected.
About 2:51 Marilyn noticed that seal had hauled out to the Makapuu side of RRB. It was not there earlier. The seal is a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, cream colored female belly, and unsure about tags.

Team R&B hit the beaches before their luncheon with the family.
Early on they were at the bay and found a seal on the rocks snoozing. At first they thought about Kala but its face was different.
There was a crab that made its way over to the seal and crawled on its face startling the seal. When the seal lifted its head that was enough for them to ID R3CX Nalu.

As they were heading back to the car they stopped and talked with Mr. & Mrs. Ayla, when they noticed two more seals in the water around the rocks. So they hurried back to find both seals coming up on the rocks.  First up was RH76 Kala followed by RH32 Kaale. Kala immediately went up into the rocks. Kaale waited for the surge to easily lift him up on the rocks with Kala.

Team R&B didn't have much time before their family gathering so they made one last stop at another west side location.  To their excitement there was a seal foraging at 7 minute dives. Then it came to the cove and around the rocks. There was RL08, he hauled in alone up on high rocks to the left.
Then it was time to go!
