April 3, 2023 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕 & Marilyn.

Early morning Team R&B spotted R3CU at a west side location. He is huge and looks like could be a pregnant female. He must be getting some really good eats.
They went to the other end to check out seal inlet and to the right they were happy to find a seal.  There was RH76 Kala coming up. She is looking gorgeous and huge!
They decided to hang out to get RH76's tag shot.  They spotted more seals fighting off the rocks. They tried for two hours to get the IDs.  Finally three seals came up on the rocks.
First to haul out by Kala was RL20 Kalua who came right behind her. He is full of welts but okay. Must me all that rough play with the boys.
Next to haul out was RM31 Kai. He went behind Kala who woke up this time. She whooped at the boys and the three settled in and snoozed.
Meanwhile RL08 hauled up on the rocks to the left.

Lastly they headed over to paradise cove and were quite upset at the scene. There on shore was RL12 Aukai with many adoring fans.  They called the hotline right away especially where they didn't have any signs to put out.  DLNR arrived the same time as the volunteer, who put up the signs and ropes.
They moved all the folks back, meanwhile people were chasing the turtles. DLNR were right there, and all the people got away from the turtles.  This is a daily activity, such a shame.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:50 to 2:40 and there were seven seals today.
Out on the rock flats of LPB was a Subadult Female: subadult size, older coat, tannish yellow female belly with some green and at least one tag.
On LPB was Mom and PO4.  Marilyn did not see a nursing today, but all else seemed normal.  Although Marilyn believes Mom to be RB12 she could not confirm.
About 40 feet from 3BS was Mom and PO3. The pup mostly nursed
and snoozed and finally went for a swim when Marilyn was about to leave.
About 50 feet Makapuu side of 3BS were two seals:
Juvenile Female: juvenile size, light gray with green belly, and two red tags.
RK37 - subadult to adult size, light female belly, two red tags and a NB on her lower left side.
