April 4, 2023 Tuesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to by Marilyn, Melody and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 10:50 to 1:25 and there were six seals occupying the island.
On LPB was Mom 4 and PO4, they were just moving up the beach. There were snoozing and nursing sessions. Still no positive ID on mom.
Between 1BS and 2BS was an Adult Male: adult size, older darker coat and male belly and at least one tag. There may have been some scars on the dorsal back and ventral side. He spent most of the time covered in sand.
Initially in the water but hauling out on shore were Mom 3 and PO3. They went for the longest swim, Marilyn has seen so far. Came back in for a nurse and snooze.
About 60 feet of 3BS was RK37 Huia: subadult to adult size, female belly, two red tags and NB on lower left side.
Later, Marilyn got word that RM26 Nohea was on the east side.
RM26 is Kaiwi's pup born on April 6 2020. She'll be turning 3 in a couple of days.

Melody decided to go visit Lei Ola and PO2, even though it was a rainy dreary day. When she arrived Mom and PO3 were in the middle of a nursing session. Seems PO2 has grown quite a bit since she saw him six days ago. Once the pup's belly was full they both took a nap.
After an hour they were still in the same spot. Eventually PO2 got antsy and started to venture off away from Lei Ola. Mom woke up and had a panic attack not have her eyes on it. PO2 couldn't make it over the rocks so it barked for Mom. Kid went over to mom and sheepishly buried her head in the sand. Then they headed out for a swim.
Once they came back in there was RQ75 Lehiwa, Right Spots pup from last year. Lei Ola didn't like the intrusion so she went after Q75. Lehiwa fought back (little bugga).
When Melody was leaving she spotted Lehiwa RQ75 with U'i Mea Ola

Team R&B started their morning at the ourfall watching an adult seal foraging along side snorkelers. They took some pics from a distance and seeing a scar on left lip they remembered RK62 female from Molokai.

Next they headed over to secrets to check out what was happening today. A volunteer was on site there were signs but no ropes around Aukai RL12 on shore. A wedding group did a photo shoot near Aukai.

At another west side location they found Miss Kala RH76 in the company of the two brothers, RM31 Kia and RP30 Puka. Nice to see the brothers hanging out together.

On their way home they checked out the bay. There they found RH32 Kaale alone. He seemed alert looking around over his shoulders.  They were surprised to see him in this
spot, since its been quite awhile he had been seen there.
Next at a different location they found RQ24 Mauna and RL42 Leia. Looks like RQ24 is doing okay getting along in life.
RL42 was well hidden but they saw her CC scar to get a positive ID. They couldn't tell much about her size based on her position.

Hello, RH76 Kala isn't sister to the two young boys RP30 and RM31. Their sister RK40 died. RH76 Kala was born at Rabbit Island and her mom is RB12 Sadie, while the mom of the 2 boys is RL42 from Mokule'ia.
