April 12, 2023 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:40 to 3:10 and there were seven seals on island during her observations.
Out on the rock flats Lanika side of LPB was a Subadult Female: subadult size, tannish yellow female belly and unsure about tags.
In the middle of LPB was a Juvenile Male: juvenile size, light male belly, doesn't look like there were tags, and a NB on the tip of the RFF.
At the waterline nearer the 1BS on LPB were sadie RB12 and her pup PO4. They spent a fair amount
of time in the water before hauling out to snooze and feed.
Initially Pua RF34 and PO3 were in a tide pool in front of the beach at Middle Cliff. They finally hauled out for the pup to nurse and then went into snooze mode.
Lastly there was a mostly hidden behind waterfront rocks down from the #BS was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, two red tags and a light female belly with a fair amount of green.

Team R&B started their day at the bay where they spent a couple hours feeling frustrated.
When they arrived the boats were at the outer side of the jetty. They had the nets out and Team R&B watched closely. Sure enough there was a seal foraging in the nets. They were determined the seal was RL20 Kalua. He wasn't the only one, the boobie birds were diving in the nets, sitting and eating fish.
They called the hotline to report.
There were dolphins in the area as well. Then Team R&B noticed another seal on shore at the rest camp.
So they headed over and found R3CX Nalu on shore at restcamp.  They let the mp's know and the mps told R&B to stay aways from the seal. LOL. They assured them they knew they were just going to get an ID.

Next stop was paradise cove with lots of tourist. They found RH32 Kaale on the reef, so they called the
hotline.  They did their best to get the tourist to give the seal some space.
They checked at secrets and found Lefty RG28. He was alone and there were signs or ropes up.

Lastly Team R&B found a seal at nimitz. They didn't see any tags nor any markers, the seal didn't help by being covered in sand and barely moved.  They were there for an hour trying to to figure out who this could be. During that time they saw some folks coming, so Team R&B told the boy to stay back from the seal, but then the grandfather kept going, even with them calling out to him to stay back.
He never listened and the seal started to move and backed at him as he got closter.  If that wasn't bad enough the rest of the family walked close by as well. The seal got spooked and dashed off into the water. Team R&B never got an ID.
Today wasn't a very pleasant day out on the beaches for Team R&B. I am sorry they go through so much crap, but I do appreciate all that they do.
