April 20, 2023 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12 noon to 1:30 and there were six seals on island today.
Sadie RB12 and PO4 spent most of the first hour in the water. They finally hauled out at LPB at 12:55. They moved up the beach and the pup then went behind mom for a nursing session followed by a snooze.
RF34 Pua and PO3 were almost directly down from the 2BS today. Because of the rising tide they kept moving up the beach. PO3's belly is turning into a reddish hue, but still no guess as to its gender. There were at least two nursing sessions. PO3 is 4 weeks old today.
Out on the reef flats near SRI were two adult seals:
Adult Female - adult size, light gray-greenish female belly and two red tags. Marilyn believes this is the same female that has been in this area most of the week.
RK24 Bruno: adult size, light gray male belly, two red tags and a scar on the right side about 1/3 from rear flippers. He seems to have replaces the Adult Male that had been with the Female earlier this week. The A/M had a dark gray male belly different from RK24.

Team R&B first find was RH32 Kaale snoozing on the reef at secrets. Signs were adjusted and they did their best to keep people back. They called the hotline, and at the end of the day no one came. Team R&B stayed until 12:43, wished RH32 a good and safe day and then left.  They had counted over 75 folks walking through by where he was.

At another west side location they found the lovely Kala RH76 moving up the rocks due to the high surf.
Then they saw two seals foraging off sure. They were able to ID RG28 Lefty and RL08. They may have been another but they couldn't be sure. They decided to wait around to see if they would haul out.
Well what seemed like forever they finally hauled out.  RL08 landed and stayed on lower rocks.
LEfty RG28 alsp landed, but he galumphed over the rocks then down and he was gone.
