April 2, 2023 Sunday's Dailies

Todays  dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:55 to 3:25 and it was really overcast, but worth the time. There were nine seals on island today. The big news of the day is that PO4 has arrived!
For simplicity she labeled the seals 1 - 9.
Seal 1 - out on the rock flats of LPB. This could be the same seal that has been in this spot the last few days. Subadult size, unsure about tags of gender.
Seal 2 - on the rocks of LPB was an Adult Male. Adult size, dark gray male belly, unsure about gender
or tags. He later moved down into the entrance of one of the surge channels closer to Seals 3 & 4.
Seals 3 & 4 - Mom and PO4, Mom's ID is unknown at this time. Marilyn never got a good look of left side to see an applied bleach mark, although Sadie's due date was this weekend. The pup was doing what all new pups do.
Seals 5 & 6 - are Mom and PO3. They were in the same location as they have been for the past week. PO3 seems to be doing fine and growing.
Seal 7 - was way up in the dunes on the Makapuu side of the 3BS. Marilyn ID'd RK37 Huia based on the NB on her lower left side.
Seal 8 - was just to the Makapuu side of RK37 up in the dunes. Adult size, older coat tannish yellow female belly and unsure about tags.
Down on the beach about 20 feet Makapuu of RK37 was Seal 9. Unknown Juvenile - juvenile size, lighter ventral side, not sure about tags.

Team R&B found RH32 Kaale at Kahe. He was alone on the rocks resting. They were concerned when a couple of guys showed up along with two dogs up on the rocks. Nothing happened while they were there.

They went over to secrets and found RG28 Lefty being approached by several people. One couple has a big dog on a long leash which worried them. Lefty RG28 postured and barked, Team R&B called the hotline and stuck around for a while.

Next stop was at secrets and were thrilled to find Kekoa Alii RK72. They hadn't seen him in a bit, he's looking chubby and very healthy. They educated folks and stayed until 1 pm when a volunteer arrived.

At another west side location they came across RM31 Kai. He was once again in the same area resting.

Last stop at the bay, there was RH76 Kala. She was on the rocks in a deep sleep. No one was bothering her while they were there so she was getting some good rest. She's looking pretty chubby and healthy.
