The day started with a call from a friend letting them know there was a seal at KoOlina. They actually split up to cover two sites. The seal at KoOlina was ID'd at RH92 Nalani female from Kauai. The security folks had roped her off it was 7:45 am.
They had seen Lefty RG28 swimming at the outfall where Ka'ale had been foraging a little bit earlier. They followed the him as he headed for tracks. Lefty came right up cautiously and he hauled in. Sure enough good old buddy Kaale RH32 and landed with RG28 where they stayed for the day.
The missing bosom buddy RN14 Kalani was snoozing alone at a beach close to the outfall. He islooking large, had no new markers and was resting peacefully.
At another westside location there was a seal party with six seals. All the critters were on the rocks scattered about. Lei Ola RH48; RW02 PvKauai was on high rocks in a pond snoozing; RL70 Leina was to the right, alone snoozing on the rocks; R3CU was in a water hole, with his head in the water and butt out; Kekoa Alii RK72 at seal inlet area; RH76 Kala up on high mid rocks. And last but not least the surprise of the day was just as they were ready to leave another seal showed up. It was the dashing green machine RN44 who landed on lower rocks for the day. He made it a 7 seal party.
After enjoying the seven seal crew they headed out to the bay and found lots of people there. There was on seal snoozing. It was Nalu R3CX alone to the right on the rocks, he was just fine. As an extra treat they saw the colt with its mom that they had seen a while ago. Too cute!
Last stop they found RL42 Leia alone snoozing. She was at the cliffs, they didn't stay long to not draw any attention to her. She was her lucky 13 today.
