Todays dailies are brought to you by Lesley and Team R&B. Lesley's Ka'ena update is part two of the dailies.
Team R&B💕 arrived at tracks and waited for seals from 8 am until finally at 10 am they spotted a seal looking for a place to land. It was RN14 Kalani, unfortunately he didn't haul up on shore. At one point he almost did then decided to keep going towards the east. Team R&B followed until they lost sight of him at the outfall.
Team R&B headed over to KoOlina, to pick up special mask. (Now
I'm curious what this mask looks like). Anyway they got to the site and see a seal on shore with Security there and lots of folks curious about this fat seal. Team R&B ID'd RL12 Aukai looking quite plump. They updated Security who this critter was and answered some questions. The guard let them know she had just arrived.Next stop to another west side location where they found Kekoa Alii RK72 and Kala RH76 on lower rocks snoozing.
Team R&B made a stop at the bay and found Nalu R3CX and RN44 on the rocks. The two boys were together having a nice peaceful snooze.
From a distance Team R&B could see a seal finally hauled out at tracks. They are pretty sure its RN14 Kalani but they didn't go to see.
During the course of the day while looking for seal Team R&B spotted a fire truck parked at the bottom of Maili Point, where Tory Nakayam was found last week. The firemen were with her family with flowers heading up the mountain. Team R&B keep her in their thoughts, as should we all, a terrible unfortunate loss of a young woman.
Kalani RN14
