Today's dailies are brought to you by Team T&D and Team R&B 💕.
Team T&D and Lesley hiked out to the point today. There were albatross soaring and flying with the help of the gusty winds. They did see four seals today. First there was Ka'ena RO40 and Holokai RG40 together. RL74 Kami was on the other side, and because of her position they could see her CC bite. Lastly they found RN58 Luana.
Team R&B💕 were checking around for seals at tracks, they waited for a while and then they see one coming in. They hurried over and Kaale RH32 hauled in by the bushes and stayed put. Team R&B called the hotline and a volunteer arrived about 9:30. Team R&B waited to see if any other seals would come by but no luck, so they left the area.
When they got further away and looked back they saw a second seal haul out with Kaale. So they
hurried back. There was R407 Kawika covered in sand. Luckily there was a clear area that showed his CC scar on his back. They let the volunteer know the ID of the other critter. While watching Kaale and Kawika play a third seal came plopping up on shore to fight with Kawika. They ID'd RG28 Lefty.... (wonder what made him pick on R407). As an extra bonus there was a big pod of dolphins at play. As soon as the boats came they took off (smart critters).
Team R&B headed over to another west side location where they were thrilled to find RL70 Leina. She was on high rocks snoozing alone. Kekoa RK72 was with RH76 Kala and R3CX Nalu in a huddle on mid high rocks. They were hard to photograph but patience paid off.
Team R&B💕 observed activity at tracks from afar. They watched as people went right up to the seals. It just feels like an endless battle to keep the seals from being disturbed. I know there are more seals, and you never know where they going to go, I just don't understand why there aren't more available people to keep them from disturbance.
