Tracy informed us that the seal with the applied bleach #10 is in fact R333 who has previously been seen on Oahu and Niihau. Once she was able to study the more recent photos, she told us to disregard the R405 ID and is R333. Thank you Tracy for the correction.
Team Billand searched all day long, they took a break for lunch and did some errands. When they went back to searching for seals they only found one critter.
Team Billand found RN14 Kalani on the cliffs. He was on the rocks well hidden. It took a bit but they were finally able to get a tag shot.
Team Billand was going to make the Ka'ena west trek but it began to rain so they turned around.
That was it for them, a very long day with just little results.

Monday July 8, 2019, my boyfriend was surfing out at Ala Moana Beach Park. He described a young monk seal maybe 4 feet in length hanging out with them maybe over a hour. The monk seal came as close as 6 feet to him, eating a yellow fish 2 different times. The monk seal seemed to enjoy their company and they enjoyed the monk seals company also.
