May 7, 2023 Sunday's Dailies

Todays Dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&BπŸ’•

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:30 to 2:05 and there were  seven seals on island today.
Out on the rock flats Lanikai side of LPB was an Adult Female: adult size, light greenish-gray female belly and at least one tag. She was gone on Marilyn last scan of the island.

Sadie RB12 and PO4 were nowhere to be seen when she arrived. Then around 1:15 she briefly saw them but they did not haul out until about 1:45.  PO4 immediately nursed and then crawled behind Mom.

Between 1BS and 2BS was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, light gray female belly and two red tags.

PO3 was once again in the Middle Cliff area and was not very active during Marilyn's visit. Still no ventral view to determine sex.

About 40 feet of the 3BS was a Juvenile Male: juvenile size, light male belly and at least one tag.

At 12:39, Marilyn spotted a small seal in the SRI inlet. The Unknown Juvenile hauled up onto the beach at 1:10. The U/J only showed its left side, so not much for an ID. Juvenile size, older coat and at least one tag. Could be RQ44 but there wasn't enough to call it.

Team R&B had another slow day on the west side, but today they at least saw two seals.
They first arrived at the bay and only saw dolphins in the water. On the right there was a boobie resting and then there were two, and before they knew it there were four.
They made another check on the other side. Good that they did, because RH76 Kala was hauling up the rocks. She was alone, probably getting away from all the boyz.

At another west side location there was one seal. There was little Puka RP30 alone at seal inlet. Little guy was resting peacefully.
