Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:45 to 1:25 and there were four seals on island today.
About 25 feet of the 1BS was an Adult Female: adult size, light yellowish female belly and unsure about tags. This may be the same A/F that Marilyn has been reporting with light grayish green female belly.
Slightly to the Makapuu side of 1BS was Sadie RB12 and PO4. There were two long nursing sessions separated by a snooze. Sadie didn't seem to be bothered by the A/F who was about 30 feet away from her and PO4.
Weaner PO3 has moved back to her usual stomping grounds and was about 50 feet of the 2BS today. She mostly snoozed but disappeared into the water around 1 pm.
Team Billand started this beautiful Mother's Day first finding a green seal with cc scars. It was RL08 resting on the rocks alone. The big waves were moving him about, but there he stayed.
Next stop at the bay, they walked around a bit and then saw a seal snoozing on the rocks. It was a female with a red tag that just had a H. She was a good size, and really green, when they realized oh my its RH48 Lei Ola.
Then much to their surprise their grandkids junior sealette and the little pup showed up with lunch. Grandma was abe to show them the female seal who gave birth on both of their birthdays Feb 23rd.
From afar they saw what looked like a seal very close to some people. So of course they hurried over to the area and found RW02 PvKauai who was doing just fine. Yes there were lots of people around but he's big enough to let them know if he was being bothered. All three of his tags were visible.
While driving out they did see another seal who was RP30 Puka. They didn't have time to stop so there were no photos.
