Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:25 to 3:20 and there were three seals on island today.
They were all on the rock flats Lanikai side of LPB.
Weaner A was furthest in the Lanikai direction: weaner size, shape and color, female belly and two red tags. Unsure if its RS12 or RS34.
Closer to LPB and near each other were:
Adult female: adult to subadult size, light female belly with some green and unsure about tags.
A short distance away was Weaner B: weaner size, shape and color, light female belly and two red tags.
Team R&B started their day finding the lovely Miss Kala RH48. She was pretty much in the same spotas yesterday and very dry.
On the other end they heard some folks saying oh its going to go, so instinctively Team R&B checked and sure enough there was R3CX Nalu. He was leaving, they were lucky enough to make an ID, since he went out to the open ocean.
They waited for another two hours to see who would be around, and thankfully Nalu R3CX returned. He was in cruiser mode looking for RH48 Kala. He was knocked around by some waves, left and went right over next to the inlet and landed. He must of been tired since he was 12 feet of Kala but didn't make move just stayed close.
Their next stop was at yoks and there were hundreds of people out and about on the beach. Out there was big boy Kainoa RN04. Of course the beachgoers had to get closer to take there photos. There were three signs posted close to Kainoa. A man told them volunteers had been there put the signs up but left once it started to rain.
At one point it looked like he was going to leave, but he got hit by huge waves, turned and went back up shore.
At another west side location they found two seals. There was Lei Ola RH48 in the company of Lefty RG28. He finally found his girl. They slept close together, Team R&B could see Lei Ola's throat moving meaning she was vocalizing to him. She was hidden so they could not tell if she started her molt. After many hours of looking they called it a day.
