Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12 noon to 1:40 and there was one seal on island today.
Among the water front rocks between 3BS and SRI was a Subadult Female S/F: subadult size, light greenish female belly and two red tags, seen during a flipper flex. Marilyn suspects she is one of the S/Fs she has seen in the last month.
Marilyn has been checking for the Masked Boobies at the ridge of RI, but did not see the parents and the chick until 1:30. The chick looks as big or bigger than the adult. However the wings are still not fully developed.
Team R&B found little Puka RP30 in the morning rain. RP30 was on the rocks resting.
During their afternoon check he was still there resting. This is when they found RL20 Kalua on the rocks to the right, also resting in the rain. They both appear to be getting greener.
At another west side location they found two seals. Funny to see big boy Kaale RH32 next to Pe'ekai RP84. The size difference is amazing, between a one year old and a six year old.
At a different location they saw a seal on the rocks while sitting in the car. So they walked over to take a look. On the way they ran into some folks who told them the seals come here all the time. Then gave them directions by go around the dog to find them. So they went looking down different paths, then finally they saw a seal on the rocks. It was so hot and humid today, but they made it over to find RN14 Kalani. They were surprised to see him in this spot, not an easy find.
