Today Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:15 to 2:00 pm and there were two seals on island today.
On LPB was a S/F: subadult to adult size, yellowish female belly and two red tags. She went up and down the beach several times.
Down from the 3BS was a J/F: juvenile size, silvery white female belly and two red tags.
Team R&B first find was Nalu R3CX, looks like he is back from his stay out at Ka'ena Point. He was resting nicely, but suddenly popped up and took off for higher rocks in a hurry. He seemed to be agitated. They hurried over to the other end and saw some idiot (and that's a nice name) throwing big coral rocks at the seal. Team R&B called out to STOP, and gave him a piece of their mind. The guy went and hid in the rocks below, but they waited and one hour later he popped out of the rocks and walked away. They saw him talking to another guy they knew, so they told their friend they were upset and what had happened. Hopefully this will be the end of it.
Team R&B did go back two more times during the say and Nalu was still there sleeping.
At another west side location they found little Mr. Pe'ekai RP84 on the rocks. He was fine and in a deep sleep.
To the right was RN14 Kalani who they hadn't seen in awhile. He is looking good, only new marker was a small mark above his eye. (It might have been just a water mark ??)
Last they found R407 Kawika resting in a pond and was out cold. These seals must move around quite a bit to be in such a sound sleep. He is looking fat and in good condition, healthy. He too decided to return from Ka'ena Point.
