Team R&B first find was Mr. RM31 on the rocks alone. They waited for a bit to see if he would move around at all, but he did not. Little bugger in such a deep sleep.
At another west side location they found their little guy Pe'ekai alone on the rocks. He was resting peacefully, funny it makes you wonder how he can be comfortable on the rocks.
They saw the boats and searched the waters if there were any seals around. The fishers had Akule netsin the water and sure enough there was a seal taking fish from the nets. They called the hotline, and the response was there was nothing to do just take photos. Team R&B couldn't tell which seal was out there, they thought of Kaale but could not say for sure. They stayed and waited and by 12:30 the boats were done. Thankfully!
From there they went to a nearby spot to see who was on the rocks. There was a very healthy, fat Kawika R407.
They spotted a seal from a far and there was a person pretty close to it. They hurried over to see a lady still close by looking for shells. The seal was a molting female about 75% done. They were lucky to see the gray tag, it was KG54 Huakai. They were joined by Melina who was meeting KG54 for the first time. Just when they were ready to leave they spotted another seal coming in fast.
It was R407 Kawika relocating from his earlier snooze. He made a fast move and she wasn't happy. He laid there next to her and waited for her every move.
Team R&B did a recheck on Pe'ekai RP84, all was quiet and he was basking in the sun. Then he started acting like he was going to barf. He dove into the shallows and threw up yellow chunks (ew). He then chased the larger pieces and recycled his original meal. (yuck). He must have felt better, galumphed back up on the rocks.
Last stop for the day, they were happy to finally lay eyes on Lei Ola RH48. She was in a pond and is in fact molting. Wonder if she'll stay in this spot or find a another comfortable place to molt.
