Team T&D met up with Lesley to check on Luana RN58 and Mauna PO5. When they arrived Mom and pup had two male visitors right off shore. There was Benny RE74 and Kaale RH32 with their typical male behavior of fighting. They both tried to haul out near Mom and pup but Luana wasn't having it and barked at them until they moved away. While watching them , another seal was coming in from the left. It was R407 Kawika and now there were three amigos. They all fought for a bit making it difficult to keep track of whos' who. The trio didn't stick around for long, and that's when Team T&D and Lesley went on their hike.
Next they found Ka'ena RO40 in his own little world, seems he pretty stays close to his home. Thenthey saw Kami RL74 who had pooped recently. After that they saw PvKauai RW02 who was on the move.
Team R&B started out early knowing they had to cut their day short. First stop they see Miss Lei Ola RH48 right away. She was snoozing high up by the bushes. Then they noticed RL20 Kalua coming up too. There was a family and the kids were yelling out to the seals. The seals were getting anxious, so Team R&B advised them to let the seals rest. Thankfully Mom got it.
Some days it takes a lot of energy reminding people to be respectful.
At another west side location once again there were big waves and washing over the area. On lower rocks was R3CX Nalu. He was resting peacefully and not letting the waves ruin his rest. He was alone today, hope little Pe'ekai found a safe spot.
Last stop for Team R&B they were focused on a small seal on therocks testing. They finally got the ID RL70 Leina, due to her left facial scar, three scratches on her back and her white nails. After they figured it out she was kind enough to show her tag.
They happen to spot another seal just hauling up on the rocks. It was RL42 Leia who is looking quite fat. She was getting hit by the crashing waves and moving away best she could.
RL42 see RL70 and barks at her as if to say, Move Over I want to come up too. But L70 stared her down and then turned to move up. Interesting to watch the communication between the two ladies.
