Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:55 to 1:20 and there was only one critter today.
Near SRI was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, very light female belly and two red tags. She may have a scar on the left side lower chin.
Team R&B's first two seals of the day were spotted on the rocks. They were snoozing together, probably after filling their bellies. One was RL08 from Kauai and the other was RH32 Kaale.
At another west side location the next critter was Pe'ekai RP84. He was snoozing on the limu due to thelow tide. The smell of the limu brought them back to their childhood memories.
To the right was Kai RM31. His applied N4 bleach was visible on the little guy.
Next stop they found R3CX Nalu back in the area. He was up on the rocks to the right. There were three kids that walked up to him, but after seeing they were being watched they left.
Then they spotted RL20 Kaulua off in the distance foraging. They never saw him haul out because he was too busy in the bait ball.
RL20 had two boobies birds in competition with the bait ball, for sure there was plenty to go around.
At another stop they were shocked to find Lei Ola RH48. Its incredible how quickly her molt is going, she's nearly done.
Junior Sealette made the trek to Ka'ena West with them. Their first sighting was R3CU. He was in a small pond rolling about.
Next find was R407 Kawika, although it took them a bit to get his ID. There were lots of folks in the ponds but all were good knowing the seal was there.
Their last find of the day came when they went to recheck a beach one last time. Good they did since this time there was a seal. They thought it would be the new island girl KG54, but it wasn't. To their surprise it was RN14 Kalani.
