10-3-2013 DB's Dailies: Irma@MB, Kea@SB, M&M@WP, Ewa Girl&Kekoa@RR

At 0600 I found and cordoned off Irma (R010) once again (D#4) at the far right end of Makapuu Beach. Picked up the stuff and called it a day at 1900.

At 1058 I found Kea (RN46) foraging at Crappy Cove. He would haul out at 1102 and Melanie, Gayle& I did an SPZ. At 1255 he would reenter the water 1246 only to haul out again at 1255 at the east end of the cove. We redid the cordon. Sean got an N46 bleach on him at 1330. Kea entered the water at 1705 and was foraging in the near shore waters of the cove at dark.

At 0749 Team Billand reported M&M (R020) at 1707 White Plains.

At 1112 the Billands reported Ewa Girl (RS00) at the Reef Runway.

At 1429 Team Billand got the report of somebody at Secrets, but found nobody on arrival.

Team Billand advised that Eileen had called at 1500 to report Kekoa (RK72) an Ewa Girl (RS00) at the Reef Runway. I know it must be killing Barb.... but I am worried about U'ilani RN36 at this point.... she hasn't been seen in a bit and after all the molasses hoopla it would make me feel better knowing she was okay.

Irma under the early morning sky

Irma's son around the corner resting on some comfy rocks Kea

Kea got his bleach today... funny this is one seal that doesn't need an easy ID... he already has his natural bleached flippers. So RN46 -Bleached N46 nicknamed Kea...

From what I understand the little bugger slept through the process ... lol

See the fish at M and m's face???? Some one thought they were being kind to her by tossing her a fish. NOT GOOD.

Witness said, the boy was in the zone with M. He tossed her the fish. She did not accept it, the waves took the fish.

I hate it when we got the informational sign out about the seals, and someone just sneaks in when not too many folks are out, takes advantage of the moment and does things to our seals.

I was proud of the witness who tried to yell at the boy, and ran over to get him out of zone...But the boy ran away. He even walked with us to look for the boy...no where on shore. TOO BAD. He needs to be educated right a way. It is against the law to feed our Critically endangered seals..what ta hell was this kid THINKING???

BAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
