Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:54 to 3:00 pm and there were six seals seen during that time. Unfortunately the spear fishermen showed up again and was reported DOCARE.
Near the LPB surge channel was MO3 and her pup PO3. Marilyn saw at least one nursing session and the pup headed for the water at one point. Both mom and pup seem fine.
Down from the 3BS was RF34 Pua and her pup PO4. The pup went into the water twice with mom joining the pup during one of thesessions. When they hauled out the pup nursed. Pua was very aware of the spear fishers and other interlopers and kept an eye on them.
On the rock flats behind the entrance to SRI was a Sub-adult Female: large juvenile to small sub-adult size, green female belly and two red tags.
After the spear fishermen had pulled their kayaks up to the dune and had gone into the water an Unknown Adult seal hauled out near their kayaks. The UA was sub-adult to adult size, not sure about sex or tags.
Marilyn left before the fishermen returned to the kayak so she doesn't know if there was any interaction.
Team R&B had searched all morning without finding any seals. After lunch they went back and they were happy their luck had changed.
Their first find was RP28 Wakea alone on the rocks. They found him at rails and he was doing fine.
At another west side location they first found RG28 Lefty. He was on lower rocks and in a deep sleep.
Next was R617 off to the right. He was also in snooze mode enjoying her rest.
Then they spotted a seal bobbing and then hauling up on the rocks and looking at R617. Team R&B ID'd RM31 Kai who galumphed over the rocks and pond to get to R617. He nudged him on the side of his belly and there was no reaction. Then he gave R617 a smooch and that finally woke him up.
Next they were happy to find another seal at cliffs. They ID'd RP30 Puka alone resting on the rocks.
Their last find today was a big one. They spotted a seal on shore, female with no tags sleeping. Finally she flipped over and they saw two cc scars and a scar on her side. After some time they figured out it was BG R303.
