8-18-11 DB Dailies

I got email from Dana last night, advising that an animal was once again fronting lifeguard stand 2C, in Waikiki. When I arrived at 0530 this morning I found who else...Rocky (RH58) snoozin' away. She would began her galumph to the sea at 0900, but of course, had to pose and roll in the cool sand, before departing at 0940. Thanks to Becky and Karen !

Late Breaking...... Just got a call from Dera at 1928. Rocky is back at 2C in Waikiki. It looks like there will be a D#6 in my life in the morning, unless any among you have the equipment and the desire to deal with Rocky and the early morning characters .

I got to Makai Pier at 1114 and found Nani (RK60), Duke (RA12), and Kolohe (RW22) together in a group, on the right side rocks of Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island. Duke's D#8 molt is 100%. Kolohe's D#5 molt is 20%.

Reports from the AD's , Irma &Pup sight said they spent the morning on the water front rock flats.

Karen Turner sent D#21 photos from Turtle Bay with R5AY, and a reeeeally chunky lookin' pup. Thank You Karen.

Team Billand checked in at 1103 with the report of RI37, on the sand at Tracks.

Dana made her report from the Reef Runway at 1210, saying that she and Dera had found that Ewa Girl (RS00) was there, but Kekoa was not seen in the 2 hr window she had out there. Dera called at 1449 to advise that ace Security posse member Eileen had just called to report that Kekoa had just hauled out, but Ewa Girl was gone. Thank You Eileen.

Tracy sent some shots from her 3 day pup tagging trip to Kalaupapa. Though all 3 pups are cute, I must confess a warm fuzzy spot in my heart for Lona's boy, RK70. Buster and Right Spot's presence there was an extra added treat.

I beginning to think Rocky is a tad too comfortable at her new haul out...

8-17-11 DB Dailies

The day began at 0400 when I found a DeraMail advising that and U/U had hauled out the the Prince Kuhio statue in Waikiki (Duh ???). I was on the road at 0500, and standing with Rocky (RH58) at 0530. I got her cordoned off, and was thankfully releived by Dana at 0745. She reported that Rocky departed at 1045. ummm Rocky, I heard DB say you weren't one of his favs anymore, if you know whats good for you, you will return home to Diamond Head.

A quicky look at Rabbit Island before my Irma shift, provided a look at both Kolohe (RW22) and Duke (RA12) were at Rabbit Island . I was unable to document a percentage of molt based on that look. When I got back at 1500, there was nobody home at RI.

On the 1000-1300 shift Irma &Pup went down to a small tide pool just big enough for the kid, and Irma's head, and spent most of the shift there. There were 2 observed feeds. Lesley & Marilyn, did the dawn patrol, and Ann the 7-10. Tammy and Karen came through in the afternoon. Thanks guys !

Team Billand called at 0745 to advise that posse member Clay Gates had reported T21M at Iroquois Point, and I'm happy to report that Clay provided photo documentation of the Navy removing the now infamous Fender from Iroquois Point.

A 1434 call from Tracy, who was at the Molokai Airport , waiting to return to civilization, brought news that Lona (R017) weaned her pup over there yesterday, and has been tagged. The male weaner is RK70/71.
She also advise that Buster (RV08) continues to haunt the Molokai girls.

Mom and Pup in for a little dip in a tide pool
Dawn Patrol from Lesley great belly shots

Really Rocky? This has gone on too long... go home!
