8/29/2014 DB's Dailies: T990&Buster@SB, Kaiwi@BH, Kainoa@RI, Kolohe@GR, Pohaku@Nanakuli, M&M@KCG

I was at Sandy Beach, dark and early at 0530 and found an overnighted T990, still within the signs. The cordon was redone. Posse member Lani called at 0954 to advise that T990 had departed. I picked up the stuff, and then proceeded to do a check of the east end of SB. To my surprise I found T990 newly arrived near the outfall, and once again redid the cordon. This is Buster territory and I suspected it would be just a matter of time till they met.

By pure luck I happened to arrival back at SB just as Buster (RV08) arrived at 1202. They did a 10 rounder, battling a bit and then Buster would slow roll back to the water, only to charge again, and again. Finally, at 1232 both entered the water. T990 went west, Buster east. Buster would do a few more patrols of the Sandy Beach area, and though he tried to haul out a couple of times the adoring hordes would not allow it. I last saw him foraging again at Blowhole, just as I’d found him at 0634.

At 1104 I found what would prove to be Kaiwi (RK96) in the cove on the Sandy Beach side of the Blowhole Lookout.

At 1128 on a brief Rabbit Island check, I found Kainoa (RN04) front 1BS.

Team Billand called at 0630 with the report of Kolohe (RW22) at Maili Guard Rails.

At 0710 they reported Pohaku (RO28)at Nanakuli. She would depart at 1100.

At 0853 the Billands found M&M (R020) at Al’s Bench, Kalaeloa Campgrounds. Diane T reported her departure at 1013.

The Billands found a swimming head off shore of the Reef Runway this morning but it never hauled out and water shots provided no clues. Eileen called them at 1415 to advise that she saw a 50% molted U’ilani at the birth beach, RR.

In the Yesterday’s News department Kimo Smith sent shots from his end of the world trek yesterday. He found Ka’ena, RW02, RK36 & RL42 at Ka’ena Point.

6-11-2014 DB's Dailies:

The highlight of the day came with the report of the successful capture of Luana (RN58) at Mokuleia around 1030. This afternoon it was reported that the hook was removed. Check the NOAA site for further info.   https://www.facebook.com/HMSRP    Evening news had Luana storys also.

At 0644 I found Kainoa (RN04) fronting Left Greenery, on Rabbit Island.

At 0944 he would be joined by Duke (RA12). They would both remain the rest of the day. On a pan at 1045 I found Pua (RF34) just hauling out to the left rock flats on RI.

At 1246 on a routine check of Crappy Cove, Sandy Beach I found Buster (RV08) snoozin’ at the water line. I cordoned him off and he has remained the rest of the day. He departed at 1900.

At 1326 Melanie called with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) on Buster Flats, Lanai Lookout.

At 0920 Team Billand reported RIP (RR70) cruisin’ through the White Plains beach front.

At 1006 he would haul out to Kalaeloa Campgrounds. Diane T would report his departure at 1221. The Billands would report his haul out to #1707/08 at 1226. He would depart that location at 1350.
