Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:00 to 2:10 and there was one seal on island.
Near SRI was an Adult Female: adult size, light gray female belly and two red tags. In todays photos she seems to have a light-colored lower jaw area.
This is probably the same AF as yesterday.
Team R&B arrived at the outfall where RL20 Kalua was alone for the time being. He was busyforaging and stealing fish.
All of a sudden they noticed the fish took off to the right and left. There was a big seal coming in fast. All they could make out was a very large seal with two red tags.
RL20 and the UA took off to the open ocean.
Checking over at Kahe they saw a small green seal hauling up on the rocks. Their L7 applied bleach number was visible so they knew it was RQ42 Opihi. They were a little worried since the area has lots of dogs, homeless folks and tourist. Opihi settled on the rocks and went to sleep.
Then they noticed another seal coming in, here comes the fish thief RL20 Kalua. He didn't bother Opihi, he just went to a spot to the right and went to sleep.
Later they did a recheck and both boys were still there, and even closer together.
At another west side location they found Miss Lei Ola RH48 alone and resting. They noted how big she is and I thought the same thing looking at her pictures. There may be a small wound at the bottom of her eye.
They also found R604 behind some rocks, near where she was run off the other day. Today she rested peacefully.
A quick check to the bay they were happy to find Miss Kala RH76. She was alone enjoying her peace
at her rocky spot.
at her rocky spot.
On their last stop of the day there was a fat seal on the rocks. They were surprised the fat seal RM31 who is completely molted looking big and handsome in his new coat.
