Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:25 and there were three seals on island today.
Initially alone between 3BS and SRI was the Subadult Female who had been there frequently: subadult size, new coat, light gray female belly, line scar on her right mid chest and two red tags.
About 12:42 Marilyn noticed a small seal hauling out to join theSF. She believes this is one of the 2023 Rabbit Island weaners (either RS12 or RS34). Weaner size, two red tags, light vanilla bleach on her right side. She pestered the SF until they both settled down and went into snooze mode. While she was viewing she saw what she thinks were the tips of an eagle ray "wings" in the water fronting the SF and Weaner.
About 12:55 Marilyn realize a seal had hauled out near the 1BS. It was the molting Adult Female: adult to subadult size, no apparent tags, medium gray female belly and molt is about 80% complete. She still has old fur on the rear third of her dorsal side.
Team R&B started their day at the bay and it appears Miss Kala has returned to her spot. Kala RH76 had been in one spot prior, during and after her molting session. Seems she checked out a couple other spots for a day or two but returned "home".
Today junior sealette joined grandma to make the Ka'ena West trek. They found the lovely female RS20 snoozing on the edge of the rocks. She was resting, looking relaxed and healthy.
Last but not least they ended their day with RL42 Leia. She is looking quite lovely with her newly molted coat. Her tag was briefly visible but they didn't get a pic of it.
