September 13, 2023 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

As Team R&B started out today they spotted a seal hauling out but they could not stop. They headed over to the where they saw multiple seals yesterday. There were no seals, no dolphins or birds. They headed back to the spot where they saw the seal hauling out. They went looking and finally heard a sneeze Ah ha!!! Hidden in the rocks was a female alone and snoozing. She was not cooperating and did not move but kept snoring. Team R&B were able to finally ID R604.

Next stop at the cliffs they spotted movement in between the rocks. An officer arrived and was curiouswhat they were looking at, so they point our the seal.
This seal is molting and may possibly be RM31 but they could not confirm a positive ID so they reported him as an Unknown Male.

Lastly they made another stop and were scanning the area. They noticed the DLNR out with some gentleman and there was one sign. They hurried over to the area and were surprised to see two seals.
There was RL42 Leia with her signature cc scar and showing off her tag. The male was a little harder to ID because he was so sandy. But after awhile and lots of patience the male turned over and his tag was visible. It was Nalu R3CX.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:10 to 3:10 and there were three seals on island today.
Down from 3BS was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, two red tags and light female belly.
Initially alone near SRI was an Adult Female: adult to subadult size, two red tags, medium gray female
belly and a scar on the right mid chest.
shortly after she started viewing an Unknown Adult: adult size, two red tags, some sort of scar on the right rear side. The behavior of this seal was that of a cruiser male, but Marilyn never saw the belly. The UA entered the water through SRI. Then she believes the same UA hauled out again about 2:50 pm.
