02/27/2022 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:05 to 2:35 and there were two seals during her observation.
Initially one seal was on the waterfront rocks between 3BS and SRI. It was reported as U/S: subadult to adult size, two red tags and unknown gender. This critter stayed in basically the same position showing her its dorsal to right side during her entire visit.
Marilyn was ready to leave, dismantled the camera and took one last look through the scope. That's when she saw an unknown juvenile between the 1BS and 2BS at 2:24. She quickly set up the camera but the U/J only stayed on shore for about four minutes and was covered with dark sand. The critter was juvenile size, two red tags and not sure of gender. Because of overcast conditions the photos are a little dark and blurry. The U/J reentered the water and Marilyn lost sight of it. She did stay for another 20 minutes but did not see it again.

Team R&B started off at one of the busier beaches. They waited a very long time for any of the seal to
haul in. People were asking where are the seals?  Then not to disappoint one was coming in Kekoa Alii RK72. Team R&B got the signs and began the process of educating the public. The "seal fans" were thrilled to see him.  They asked how did they know he was coming LOL.... seal sense.  Kekoa took his time hauling out looking around and sniffing the air.
Next there was RH32 Kaale from a distance and in a straight line to the shore. The seal fans once again were thrilled to see this seal surf the waves and land.  Speaking of surfing the waves, one of the lifeguards were practicing their skills on a jet ski.
Kaale was accepted by Kekoa, there was no fight or posturing they were both chill.  Both of them basked in the Hawaiian sun like buddies.  Posse pal Amy arrived after them and stayed the entire time the boys were out there.

At another west side location they found RP84 Pe'ekai was already at his hideaway. He was tucked in between the rocks snoozing.
RW02 PvKauai was on lower rocks, but took a nice cool dive into the playboy pond and blew bubbles.
Lefty RG28 was up high rocks, they could only see his applied bleach on his side. They had to walk around to get a view of his whole body. He was out cold!

Their last stop they found a lovely female. They studied her for a while to make sure they got her ID. Finally she was very nice and showed her tag. Yep its RL42 Leia.
