02/07/2022 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕  They had an extremely long and busy day.

They arrived at one of the sites and waited around for seals. At 9:50 am RK72 Kekoa Alii came from around the rocks and landed by the rocks. He was looking fine, nothing to note. They put up signs and educated folks. They sent a text to posse pal Amy and waited, she arrived about 10:30.
They headed out to check on other sites. At 12:22 they received a text
from Amy. They were informed Kekoa had thrown up blood and is snout was bloody. Of course they rushed back to the site.  When they got there Kekoa was snoozing by the sand and rocks and they could see his mouth was red. His behavior was fine, not thrashing or showing any distress. No hooks or lines seen, just the red on his snout. It was called into the hotline, and they sent photos to NOAA.  A volunteer arrived shortly after being notified.
At 2:15 Noaa arrived to check on Kekoa. By that time Kekoa Alii moved to his spot in a small pond on the rocks for a long snooze. He was still very calm. By 4 pm Team R&B were done with all they could do. Looks like the salt water cleaned his snout. Now it was just light pink, Kekoa Alii was okay.

Team R&B managed to make it to a few other sites and see seals. I personally don't know how they do it. Their next find was snoozing on the rocks alone peacefully and undisturbed. RL20 Kalua, must have gotten his fill and down for a nap.

From afar they saw Lefty RG28 hauled up on a beach with people around him. At one point he postured and barked at them.  They made their way over, which took a little time and now the people were gone. Lefty was there resting peacefully alone.
After leaving Lefty they checked around the area and saw two more seals. There were two boys  RN14 Kalani and R3CX Nalu.

At another west side location they found R3CU on lower rocks alone. And much to their delight there was RP84 Pe'ekai hauled in on upper rocks.

Last find was when they responded to hearing about a seal hauling out at another location. They hurried over to find RL12 Aukai. She was on shore already with signs and roped off. She was doing just fine.  She looking beautiful and probably taking a break from all the boys.
