02/04/2022 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team T&D, Marilyn and Team R&B💕.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:30 to 3:00 and there were two seals on island today.  Sure beats the last couple of days of no seals.
On the rock flats at Middle Cliffs was a juvenile female that Marilyn believes is RP24 Mohala (RF34 Pua's 2021 pup born on 3/20/21). Juvenile size, female belly with some green, two tags and a quick look at the natural bleach on her LFF.
On the rock flats just back of SRI was an A/F: hefty adult size, medium gray female belly and unsure about tags. This female looks pregnant but doesn't look like it will be anytime soon.

Team T&D hiked out to Ka'ena Point today and met up with Lesley. Their first find was RL98. Her
cookie bite above her RFF is healing nicely, and doesn't seem to bother her.
Next they found RP40 Ka'ena hauling out just as they arrived.
Lastly they found RKA2, the little 3 year old Kauai girl. She still hanging out at the point.

Team R&B started their day waiting for hours with no seals around. They did see some whales to keep them entertained. One of the folks on the beach let them know there were two seals that passed but Team R&B did not see them.
FINALLY, they found a seal snoozing his heart away on the rocks. It was their beloved Kekoa Alii RK72. He was alone today.

As soon as they arrived at another west side location there was seal. It was Kaale RH32, imagine that he finally left the crowded beaches where he had been hanging out. Later he moved down to the shallows with his butt in the air. ( and that would be another reason to call him butt head.)
They found RP84 Pe'ekai about one minute before he decided to move to lower rocks. He was then hidden away as he does so well.
Then there was another little seal, and after a lot of studying they finally figured out his ID. It was RL08, RB00's 2019 Kauai boy.  He was on high mid rocks, pretty much hidden for a long time. Patience paid off after waiting in the hot sun, the little guy showed them what they needed to make an ID.

At another location they found a seal that they did not see right away. One of their friends spotted the
critter on the rocks. They went over to look and there was RL70 Leina. These seals are very good at hiding themselves. RL70 is probably hiding from the boys.

Last stop they went to check if the same two boys were still around. Sure enough there was RM31 Kai and R3CX Nalu chilling on shore together. A woman on site told them they were arguing earlier.
Kai was snoring and looking peaceful. He has a new CC on his chest, nothing to be concerned about.
Nalu was snoozing along side of him. He looks really big compared to the kid.
