Team T&D hiked out to the point today. The waves were huge and the whales were putting on a great show. While out on their hike they found three seals. On the beach they found RJ40 E'ena. At the other side of the point there was Nalu R3CX. Shortly after they notices a seal coming in. They determined it was Squinty R330. They were thinking/hoping there would be some interaction between the boys, but no, both stayed in their areas.
Team R&B started by making their way in the wee hours over to a popular beach. The surf was hugeand the Idol group was packing up and leaving. They got to the beach and saw a fat seal snoozing way up by the bushes. It was our very chubby Aukai RL12.
They couldn't get the signs out because the surf was crashing over the rocks and flooding the area with over two feet of water. They did try another way but found out it wasn't passable.
Team R&B decided to call upon posse pal Amy, because they had to head out for an appointment. They did see some people heading over to the beach and warned them of the seal and that the area was flooded. One guy walked over anyway, and after speaking with him again he walked away.
Team R&B heard later that Melody was on site and a second seal arrived.
Next they saw a seal from afar so they drove over and there was RH32 Kaale. There was a couple right by him tossing a football. ????? Team R&B went over to advise them to give the seal some space. They asked what they think would happen if they missed and hit the seal? That did it so they moved and Team R&B left.
At another west side location they stopped and got to see the huge waves covering most of the area. They spot their little guy RP84 Pe'ekai snoozing on lower rocks.
Then they saw a fat male with tags that was well hidden in the rocks. They got a split second look at the tag, and thankfully saw a cookie scar. It was R3CU, confirmed by the shark bite on his chest.
There was a seal to his right. It was RW02 PvKauai sleeping, his tags were visible.
Their last stop was at the bay. They walked around the area for a bit and finally spotted a seal. It was a female who they identified as RH76 Kala. Its been a while since they had seen her, nice to have her back.
