While out searching for seals they spotted a dark shadow on shore from afar. They realized it was a seal. They saw a woman with two little dogs, surfers and other folks in the area. Five minutes later the seal was gone. They didn't see why it left, or if it just left on its own. The seal was reported as an unknown adult.
Team R&B headed over to another populated site. They watched and observed a turtle swimming in a big wave, looking healthy and probably having fun. They also saw the Daniel K Inouye cruise by.
Finally a seal from the right end. People were in the cove swimming, snorkeling and looking for shells. This seal was coming in full throttle so Team R&B yelled out seal coming, move back. RG28 Lefty came in to shore, folks left the water and lined up on shore to take photos. They quickly got the signs and started educating as many people as possible while putting up the signs. Definitely gets your heart pumping. Lefty went right to sleep near the corner rocks on the sand. He's very alert and looking healthy. Team R&B stayed until 11:30 then posse pal Amy came to take over. Much appreciated.
Team R&B headed off to another site where they saw a seal moving on the rocks. They ID'd the seal as R3CX Nalu by his natural bleach on left side of face. He started moving about as if there was another critter coming. Then much to Team R&B's surprise and excitement, there was Kekoa Alii RK72.!!
They couldn't get to the area because there were too many dogs around that are known to be less than friendly. They got to a spot where they could study him. Kekoa Alii is looking great, no bloody snout, didn't see any cuts, nice and clean. Whew! Thank Goodness.
RK72 moved up around R3CX and went to snuggle up against the rocks. They settled and Team R&B were thrilled to see Kekoa Alii again.
Last but certainly not least they found Pe'ekai hiding in the rocks. He was snoozing and out cold. Then they happen to see flippers stretching up and there was another seal. They walked around for a better view. There was RL08 on upper rocks. If he hadn't flexed his flippers they probably would have missed him.
