01/18/2021 Monday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand. Who braved the windy rainy weather today, that in itself deserves an award.

Despite the weather and big waves there were lots of seals to be seen today. Early on they found R3CU and Kala RH76 high up on rocks snoozing together. Wonder if it was romantic or just keeping each other warm.

They left and headed over to tracks, they saw Kaale from afar going between tourist to land. He made out and went into the Pohina Hina plants. Perfect bedding for a chilly windy day. They had a little helper put up a stick zone.

Back at the outfall they found RN14 Kalani foraging. They also saw a UU but was unable to get any

clue for an ID. Sure enough they knew Kalani would finish up at the outfall then head over to meet up with his buddy Kaale. And he did hauled up and took a nap. They also got to enjoy some humpbacks.

As they were getting back to their car they happened to look over and spotted another seal. They ran down and found Kawika R407 in the company of two people taking some close ups. Team Billand made a zone and called the hotline. They waited around until 11:30, and then left for the day.

Next they found the lovely Miss Aukai RL12. The lifeguard had put up signs and tape to keep her protected. Her applied bleach N13 was visible even from a distance.

At the bay they were thrilled to find N4 Kai up on the rocks. He is looking good, weight and nice body condition. RN44 and Lei Ola RH48 were further out on the rocks. N4 went charging over, RN44 had some words with the kid. Then RN44 and Lei Ola accepted the little on and all three lay together.

Team Billand went back to check on R3CU and RH76. When they arrived the found RL70 Leina flip flopping into the rocks trying to keep herself hidden. RK72 Kekoa was laying on lower rocks and R3CU was with him. Miss Kala RH76 was still on high mid rocks alone.
