01/07/2021 Yesterday's News from Melody.

On Wednesday Melody received a text in the afternoon that there were two seals on the beach. When Melody arrived she couldn't believe how busy it was for a Wednesday afternoon.  The beach was packed with people and dogs.  Both seals were roped off with a zone, Kaiwi RK96 was in her usual spot by the wall and Rocky RH58 decided to haul out in front of the Lifeguard Tower mid beach. Melody was informed Kaiwi arrived mid morning and Rocky came in a couple of hours later. Volunteer was on site, and a little while later they had a replacement come by. The beach was super busy and amazingly people seem to be oblivious there is a rope up and a large mammal laying there.  Melody was on site for a couple of hours talking to people about the two visitors. She left at sunset after Rocky made herself a big wallow and settled in for the night.
