Team Billand started there day at the outfall and found three seals. They ID'd Kaale RH32, Kalani RN14 and Lei Ola RH48 all playing together for the longest time. Strangely enough there were some swimmers in the outfall with the seals. The seals past them and they followed the seals. The fishermen were upset at the swimmers yelling at them to get the hell out of there! Lei ola left the site.
Eventually Kaale left the outfall and landed at tracks. Soon after Kalani RN14 hauled out and joined his bosom buddy. They played in the water until 11 am. There was one guy who was way too close to the seals while they were in the water. Kalani hauled out again. Kaale hauled out at the lot, left that spot and then went back by his buddy Kalani. Once they settled in Team Billand called the hotline, hoping someone would come out.
Team Billand went to check on other seals. They arrived at another beach by the outfall and found Kolohe RW22 on the rocks sleeping alone.
Leaving for another westside location they found Kawena RH36 resting in the rocks. She is looking chubby and quite comfortable in her spot. Kekoa Alii RK72 was in a water hole during their entire visit. Then little Kala RH76 was up on high rocks and snoozing. While they were taking pictures of Kekoa they saw another seal come in. They were surprised to see Lei Ola RH48 coming in, she paused looked at Kekoa, and then landed next to him on the rocks. there was no interaction, just sleep.
Team Billand went to check the bay, knowing that all seals are hauled out in other locations. But still there is RN44 foraging just off the jetty. He really hasn't ventured very far from this site for a while.
