Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and Lesley. Lesley's Ka'ena update is part two of the dailies.
Team Billand found Ka'ale RH32 was seen just before 8 am and one of the surfer dudes was keeping an eye out on him. He let the Billands know Kaale had arrived at 6 am. Kaale is continues to molt.
Team Billand spotted a seal coming in fast from the outfall area, he came in close enough to get an ID. Ka'ena RO40 lands and cautiously check Ka'ale is there on shore. He then galumphs up to him and Kaale turns to whoop him. Ka'ena turned and headed west. They never saw him again.
Ka'ale left the area after being spooked by the swimmers in front of him. He scooted down the sand mound looked over to the swimmers and then left. Ka'ale headed in the direction of the jetty where Team Billand can see another seal. Team Billand could not get an ID and the U/U left the beach. Ka'ale did come back to his original spot and settled in. Upon their last check, Kaale was gone from his spot.
Just before 11 am Team Billand noticed a large beautiful molted female on the rocks with RL20 Kalua. Team Billand didn't recognize her, so it took them a bit to figure it out. Turns out this is RH76 Kala (born 2016 on Rabbit Island) She is a big girl, nice coat and they spotted an old small cookie scar under her chin.
Next to Kala was RL20 Kalua. He is looking good and healthy. His abscess is no longer open or pink, looks like it has healed.
While watching the other critters, there was movement in the water to the right. It's a seal coming in fast. RL70 Leina comes in to the seal inlet and hauls in. She sees the two seals sleeping by peaking over the the rocks. She turns around then slithers past L20. She looks at Kala, and wiggles her way past Kala and to her water hole for a nap. She is still molting.
