Tammy met up with Lesley today and they headed out to Ka'ena Point. Their first find was Squinty R330 and Holokai RG40. Holokai's molt looks about the same as yesterday. Next dins was little RL98 Lina at 10 minute beach. She was easy to see as she is the greenest rock on the beach. Last find was RL74 Kami. Sometimes looking for this little one is like where's waldo, she's always found in the most unusual places.
At 6:30 am Team Billand found RL20 Kalua high up on mid rocks. He was alone and snoozing peacefully.
At 7:05 am Team Billand arrived at another west side location and found Kaale RH32 sleeping high up on shore. He looks to be about 60% molted. Folks were being respectable at this time. Kaale headed out at 9:15 am.
At 8:37 Team Billand came across RN14 Kalani. At first they thought it was a dog, but it looked a little too sleek and sure enough it was a seal who landed in front of two fishermen. Kalani was right by his pole, but once he settled the fishermen relocated the pole. It was nice to have everyone coexist. Kalani left about 9:45 after a couple of children were a little to close.
At 10 am Team Billand went back to return to check on Kaale. He had just hauled out after a swim. There were two kids near the seal, Team Billand did their best to explain to them and their father keep their distance and a little monk seal 101.
They checked on Kaale once more in the afternoon. He had gone for another swim and returned. He looks to be about 65% molted.
Just before 11 am Team Billand found RH76 Kala was sleeping inland on the right. She was sleeping in a tiny water hole. She doesn't have any outstanding markings to ID her, she is spotless and looking large.
RL20 was still in the high mid rocks moving up a bit due to the high surf.
