At 0600 we arrived to find Kaiwi (RK96) in the water near her nook, 300 yds east of the AD wall. Unfortunately , we also found a throw net guy, 30 to 40 ft from her location. By 0618 when it became apparent he had no clue she was there, I went to speak with him. Happily, the interaction went well, and having been shown the kid, he moved on.
During the course of the day Kaiwi would swim 50 ft east of the basic location, and 100 ft west, before hauling out to her same basic location . She would move up and down during the day, but did not enter the water again.
On my 0915 Rabbit Island check I found Nani (RK60) on the Waimanalo end of Left Point Beach. She would remain there all day.
On a pan at 1023 I found Buster (RV08) galumphing down from behind the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS. I'd had no clue he was there. He moved down and departed at 1028. I did not see him again today.
On a Blowhole check at 1212 I found Duke (RA12) doin 7 minute dives.
Dera called at 0956 with the report of an U/U attempting to haul out at San Souci Beach, and behind the Aquarium. The adoring hordes at the water line would not allow that. The animal swam out, and was not reported again.
Dana called at 1143 to report that Right Spot (R016) was seen on the east side of Kahuku Point, and that La'akea (RK82) was west of the Keiki Pond. In the
"Yesterday's News" department, Vera Cober sent shots of the same above cast yesterday. Karen Turner provided La'akea shot at Turtle Bay for today. On my morning check of YouTube I found that volunteer Zeenat Mian has loaded much of her video footage for AD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYTfY-Exj6A. ; She has 15 videos so far. Checkum' out.
