At 0600 we found Kaiwi (RK96) lolling in her nook, 300 yds east of the AD wall. She would move out of her nook, at 0645, but remain just outside, until she moved 100 ft to the west, and then 100 yds to the west at 0840. She hauled out for a snooze on the water front rocks at 400 yds east of the AD wall. On Tammy's shift she reentered the water and swam even further toward the point, but returned to haul out once again to the water front rocks. She was snoozing at that location when I arrived to relieve DIGA, at 1600. At 1633 Kaiwi perked up and by 1647 she was galumphing over the rocks to the water on the flats at that location . I thought she would entered the water for a swim, but she staying in the shallows on the flats, investigating tide pools, and gradually galumphed to the west, over the water front rocks, checking unconnected tide pools. When I lost sight of her at dark, she was active and continuing to galumph on the rocks. I have no idea where we might find her at first light. Only Kaiwi knows.
On my 0745 Blowhole check I found what would turn out to be Buster (RV08) doing 6 minute dives. He was still there on an 1100 recheck.
Kelly Evans checked in at 1140 to advise that she was with Ua Malie (RT10) at High Rock . She said that Ua looked fat, happy, and green. Her photos confirm, fat...happy... and green.
Karen Turner provided shots from her morning trek. She found Right Spot to the east of Kahuku Point, and La'akea located at what she called "too close to the hotel", at Turtle Bay.
Posse member Jen Christian called at 1730 to ask if I knew about the animal at MCBH today. I did not. Her photos confirm a completely molted KC (RK28). Thanks Jen.... Ya' Done Good..........Again !!
