January 22, 2025 Wednesday's Dailies

Tammy met up with Lesley today and they headed out to the point. They weren't out for very long because the rain came and they were both soaked to the bone in the matter of minutes. 

They did see one seal while out there, it was PvKauai RW02.  

One of the highlights out there today is the Laysan Albatross chicks started hatching.  Let the fun begin.

One of the photos Tammy sent was an unusual sight. They saw crabs climbing the predator fence. I can't decided if its cool or creepy.

Meanwhile Team R&B also dealt with the rain today. They took care of a few appointments and while taking care of business they got a text of two seals hauling out at plains.

They headed out as soon as they could. When they arrived they were happy to see R3CX Nalu who was resting in a zone with the lovely RL12 Aukai.

Thankfully the rain paused long enough for them to make the IDs and get some photos. R3CX has a nice clean coat and looking handsome after his molt. Aukai has a bit more scars added to her but she is still a beauty.

They also spotted a couple of fairy terns.

Team R&B went and checked out a few of the usual spots on the west side. Today was windy and for Hawaii standards cold.  Their going to check was worth it, in that they found Kale RH76.  She was resting at her "zen garden" looking chubby today.  

They headed out to yoks but there weren't any seals. In the end Team R&B were happy finding three seals today!
