Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:30 to 2:20 pm and there were three seals seen during that time
Two of the seals were initially next to each other up in the dunes on the Lanikai side of the 3BS.
Adult Female: large adult size, older coat dirty tan female belly and two red tags. At 1:45 pm Marilyn saw that the A/F had moved down from the dunes in the Lanikai direction and settled behind waterfront rocks.
Initially next to her was a Sub-adult Male: sub-adult size, older coat, tannish yellow male belly and two red tags. About 15 minutes into her viewing the S/M moved down towards the waterline in the Makapuu direction where he stayed during the rest of her viewing session.
Initially below the A/F and S/M was RK24 Bruno: adult size, gray male belly, scar on right rear side. When the S/M moved down to the waterline, RK24 moved to follow and then settled down some distance away.
Team R&B first find today was the lovely Miss Kala RH76. She was alone resting at her zen area. Then they saw her get up fast and galumphed closer to the rocks, like she was hiding.
Team R&B soon realized why, there was another seal. A seal was swimming in, they were able to ID RG28 Lefty. He hauled up looking very gingerly around. He spotted Miss Kala and was pretty excited, she was not and gave him a loud bark.
So Mr. Lefty stopped and just rolled on his side and went to sleep, such a gentleman.
Team R&B stayed for a while and waited for people to arrive. Sure enough the people came and they only had to shout out to one dude that he was too close. He wasn't happy, but too bad so sad.
They did not find any other seals today, but while at Kahe they got to see some whales. They were there for a couple of hours when they saw a boat going by really fast, so they focused on the area and saw a whale breach. Needless to say they were thrilled.
While out and about on the west side they did get to see some pretty big surf.
