Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:35 and there were ultimately five seals and six humans ( a couple and their four children). Marilyn left a message with DOCARE.
On back of LPB were two seals:
Adult Female 1: She is reasonable sure its the same AF1 she has seen in this location. Her two red tags were visible during a flipper flex.
Near the A/F1 was an Unknown Adult: adult size, newer coat with lighter ventral but could notdetermine its sex and unsure about tags.
Down near the front of LPB was Adult Female 2: adult size, old coat, darker female belly, and did not see tags. It appears this seal is just beginning to molt on her right size and is no more than 5%. She was later visited by two of the four children, then by RK37 and finally by an Unknown Juvenile. ( miss popular)
Near SRI was RK37 Huia: adult size (although looking smaller because of her weight loss from molting) new coat, two red tags and nb on lower left side. She entered the water at SRI about 2 pm. At 2:11 Marilyn saw she had joined the A/F2 on LPB.
At 2:24 Marilyn found a newly hauled out Unknown Juvenile approaching the A/F2. This could be one of the weaners, but it seemed longer and thinner and the color lighter than the weaners. It was partially hidden behind the sand berm, so its gender or tags are undetermined.
