Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:25 to 1:50 on July fourth and there were seven seals on island. There is a possibility they were all females.
In the middle of LPB was Weaner A: weaner size, shape and coloration, two red tags and light female belly. Later during the viewing session she galumphed over to see RK37.
RK37 Huia was on LPB: adult size, older coat with yellowish tan female belly, two red tags and a nb on lower left side. She has started her annual molt and it looks to be about 10%.
On the 1BS side of LPB was an Adult Female 1: adult size, medium gray female belly and two red tags.
About 35 feet of 3BS was Adult Female 2: adult size, greenish gray female belly and two red tags. Marilyn is guessing basewd on coloration that this is RK38 Hali'a/Lauloa.
Initially on the rock flats on the RRB side of SRI was a Subadult Female: subadult female size, light female belly and two red tags. She later moved out on the rock flats whewre she was when two people from HMAR in a kayak passed her. She finally galumphed up the SRI channel onto the beach.
About 1:19 Marilyn became aware that two smaller seals were hauling out of the RRB channel. She thinks one was Weaner B and the other was labeled an U/J unknown juvenile. Weaner B had the size, shape and coloration of a weaner.
Unknown Juvenile: juvenile size and older coat. This is likely RQ44 Mahina but there just wasn't enough to make the call.
