March 5 2023 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 2:40 to 4:00 and there were six seals on island. Conditions were not ideal so Marilyn labeled them by number.
Seal 1 - on rock flats of LPB Unknown Adult: adult size, unknown gender or tags.
Seal 2 - initially on LPB then moved toward 1BS and went into the water. Hauled out again near Seal 3. Marilyn thinks this is RK24, adult size, two red tags.
Seal 3 - on the berm near the 1BS. Unknown Subadult: large juvenile to small subadult size, not sure about tags or gender.
There was considerable interaction between Seals 2 and 3. They went up into the dunes and later entered the water.
Seal 4 - on the waterfront about 20 feet of 3BS. Unknown Male: subadult size, and two red tags.
Seal 5 - (next to Seal 6) about 40 feet 3BS, adult size and unknown gender or tags.
Seal 6 - large adult size, two red tags and unknown on gender.

Team R&B were out and about at their normal stomping grounds. On the west side they were thrilled to find R604 on the rocks. The area is not the best since there are many camps with dogs roaming around.
But R604 was resting peacefully and no one bothered her while they were there. She's definitely a survivor based on all her scars and scratches.

At another west location they spotted multiple seals and did their best to get their IDs. There were three divers in the area with go-pro cameras on their heads.
Team R&B notice one of the resting seals at seal inlet was RH76 Kala. At the time she was alone just resting.
They watched seals off shore and noticed two coming in, fighting as they arrived. One was RL08 who
hauled up on the rocks alone. The other seal took off before they could get any ID.
A third seal hauled up and went to where Kala was resting. It was RG28 Lefty who bullied his way up to Kala and she barked at him. That didn't stop him as he sniffed at her, but then she postured up to look at him and he finally settled down next to her. Way to go Kala !

Team R&B's last find of the day was when they noticed a seal hauling up on shore from afar. There were lots of people on shore, but the seal stayed.  They hurried over to find RH32 Kaale, alone and resting.
